Resumen

Environmental studies for the flooding plain of the Paraná River at Porto Rico region, need fluviometric data about Porto São José - Porto 18 stretch, which have to be provided through a hydrodynamic model that simulates the behavior of this part of the river. The model should be calibrated using the main geometric and hydraulic parameters for the channel. Basic data gathering, main model parameters estimate (channel strength coefficient) and the resulting modelling of the channel stretch will be discussed in two different papers, the first of which will comprise the basic data gathering for the physical characterization of the channel.
