Resumen

This work presents how the Estes model was applied for studying and simulating labor learning rates in a specific construction task. The basic theory of thismodel is presented, and then applied for concrete block layering labor productivity data from massive housing construction in Merida, Mexico. Productivitydata from 15 cases of this activity, performed by different crews and companies were compiled. Theoretical and mean values of the learning rate werecalculated from the compiled information. This work concludes that with the given information, the crews reach their maximum productivity at the secondday of the task execution. Also the variability in the productivity levels is not all due to the individual laborers abilities, but also to the crew organization, the worksite conditions and companies? management.
