Resumen

The aim of this article is to determine the reasons and scope of public intervention in urban transport. The basis of the article is the thesis that urban transport is an activity requiring public intervention. The public utility of this transport and transport and social policy objectives are considered as the basis for public intervention. When discussing the scope of public intervention in urban transport, activities and instruments for smooth functioning and development of transport policy objectives are presented.
