Elderly people in the network space

Resumen

Teaching computer literacy to the elderly, as well as the very participation of this age group in Internet communities, is a ?fashionable? leisure practice, although not accessible to everyone. In our study, we focus on the study of several areas of network interaction between older age groups: communications of the elderly in groups on the VKontakte social network, computer literacy training in various courses, network communications as a resource for the development of "silver" volunteering. Thus, we are interested in how the digital communications of older age groups in Karelia take place, as well as how the elderly themselves reproduce and support online communities. Despite the fact that periods of isolation were accompanied by forced digitalization of communications, online communications are far from accessible to all the elderly and are geographically distributed unevenly. Social networks do not act as a resource for the development of "silver" volunteering, but act as a platform for informing about events with duplication of information on stands in printed form. After the lifting of restrictive measures in online practices, there was a ?rollback? and resistance to digitalization
