Abstract
Cost estimates during studies in order to implement a new chemical process are a critical stage that determines whether the process will be viable or not. This study developed a methodology to estimate the costs and investments necessary in the process of removing hydrogen sulfide from biogas. The applied methodology used cost estimates based on costs of national equipments and correlations proposed by Guthrie (1969), Turton et al. (2003) and Perlingeiro (2005). The methodology allowed rapid and precise evaluation, different configuration of equipments for the process project, thus establishing the cost of cubic meter of purified biogas.Downloads
