Abstract
This paper describes the application of CAL3QHC model to estimate the dispersion of carbon monoxide emissions originated from the traffic of light duty vehicles within the city center of Maringá, Paraná State. Estimates of emission dispersion were obtained using the local traffic and meteorological parameters and the emission factors determined with CMEM emission model. The maximum concentration of CO was estimated for 8 directions of wind, considering the emissions from moving vehicles and vehicle in queues at traffic lights, isolated and in combination. The highest CO concentration was 4.80 ppm for the predominant NS wind direction during the examined time. Most of the concentration peaks were observed in a busy traffic avenue. The concentration maps allowed viewing the CO concentration, particularly in this avenue and in the area of traffic lights.Downloads
