Relative Stability of Small Silver, Platinum, and Palladium Doped Gold Cluster Cations

Piero Ferrari and Ewald Janssens

Resumen

This work uses small single-atom doped gold clusters as model systems for understanding fundamental physical aspects of Ag-Au, Pt-Au, and Pd-Au alloy nanoparticles. Understanding their intrinsic properties is highly desirable in view of better designed bimetallic nanoparticles in catalytic and optical applications with properties that are tuned to meet the requirements of each specific application.
