Resumen
El presente artículo analiza el ajuste de la economía peruana al shock externo originado en la crisis mundial del 2008-2010, con particular atención en: i) las políticas macroeconómicas adoptadas para enfrentar dicho shock; ii) la incidencia de dicho ajuste sobre el mercado de trabajo; iii) la importancia del alto ritmo de crecimiento que venía exhibiendo Perú antes de la crisis para lograr un ajuste suave a la misma; iv) las razones que explican por qué la economía no se contrae y sólo desacelera su crecimiento, lo que permite comprender por qué el ajuste a la crisis externa no genera un efecto negativo sobre el mercado laboral ? de hecho la tasa de desempleo se reduce durante la crisis.ABSTRACTThe present paper analyses the adjustment of the Peruvian economy to the external shock caused by the global crisis in 2008-2010, with particular attention to: i) the macroeconomic policies adopted to face the external shock; ii) the consequences of the adjustment for the labor market; iii) the importance of the high rates of economic growth recorded by Peru before the crisis in obtaining a soft adjustment to the external shock; iv) the reasons that explained why the Peruvian economy does not suffer a recession and only decelerates growth, which allow us to understand why the adjustment to the external shock does not have a negative effect on the labor market ? as a matter of fact there is a reduction of the unemployment rate during the crisis.
