Resumen

Urban railways have recently received a lot of attention in the tasks related to mobility in Smart Cities. Cities change their views on automobile traffic, and all alternative transport solutions become particularly important. Projects related to railway traffic in the city are both expensive and long-term. So, they require, of course, a full justification. The article deals with issues related to the assessment of socio-economic effects of urban railways. The paper considers the classification of such effects, which can be grouped, for example, into such sections as the economy, the social sphere, and the environment. We are also talking about approaches to the practical calculation of the proposed evaluation parameters, the search for and use of suitable data sets. The examination is accompanied by examples of the evaluation of the project of the organization of railway diameters in Moscow.
