Time efficiency of transport in Poland

Agnieszka Barczak

Resumen

For several years, one can observe a clear upward trend in the mobility of Poles. Due to aspects concerning, in particular, environmental protection, the most desirable phenomenon would be a significant reduction in the use of private vehicles (passenger cars) for collective transport (especially rail). This is possible especially when there is access to an extensive communication network. The time and cost of traveling with alternative transport is very important. Therefore, the purpose of the publication is to analyze the time efficiency of rail and private vehicle transport, between provincial cities in Poland, based on the designed indicator. It was based on the average length of travel time and the average distance between points. The study covered private car and railway transport.
