Development of concrete pavements of short slabs with fiber incorporated = Desarrollo de pavimentos de hormigón de losas cortas con fibra incorporada

Kelly Condori Rivera

Resumen

The paper describes the development and construction for concrete pavements of short slabs with fiber incorporated in roads at international level, from its origins as a reinforcement layer and the new slab design methodology with optimized geometry as an innovation for the construction of new pavements. Its technical-economic advantages, durability and performance make it competitive against asphalt pavements. It also includes, the latest studies on their performance and suggestions that could improve the application of the methodology. The advantages of the pavements of short slabs with fiber incorporated make it an innovative type of pavement for roads, being able to generate savings during its construction, low maintenance requirements and a longer useful life to the infrastructure.
