Resumen

Rail transport in the world, as the most energy efficient, economical and environmentally friendly mode of transport is in the focus of attention of almost all countries. For smart cities that are losing a lot of money from traffic jams, the development of urban railways is also becoming one of the priorities. Digital systems in railway transport, for example, known today as "digital railways", have dramatically changed the opportunities and approaches to the planning and use of transport. They allow to reduce prices for transportation of people and goods by 50% and increase the capacity of this type of transport by 50%. The article is devoted to the development of the digital railway infrastructure in the city, how it is done in Europe and the world, and also how it can be done in Russia.
