GRADUATE STUDENTS AND FIRST TIME WORKERS ON THE LABOUR MARKET IN LOGISTICS

Dorota Ksiazkiewicz

Resumen

As society is getting older, less graduate students enter the labour market every year. Polish economy is in a good condition, unemployment rate falls. Logistic businesses need new workforce to develop their skills and meet the growing demand for service. However employers tend to report problems with finding appropriate candidates, especially among young people: graduates and first time workers. Students do not seize the opportunity to acquire working experience through internships, which is a preferable way for employers to educate and select future workers. As a result, young people enter the labour market without significant work experience, but with high expectations according their first job conditions.
