Resumen

Research deals with aspects in conductive/convective drying of long fiber cellulose sheets over heated surfaces under forced air conditions provided by an adjustable blower. Its aim is to analyze the influence of drying (heated surface) temperature and air velocity in the behavior of the drying curves, drying rate curves and samples temperature profiles. Influence was analyzed through the classic proposal of two drying rate periods. The constant drying rate dependence upon surface temperature and air condition was studied from a heat transfer point of view. Heat transferred by the heated surface is used partly to evaporate water from solid and partly it is lost into ambient air. For the falling rate period, a linear (proportional) reduction of the constant rate was verified
